Key findings
- About 2,527 new filings a day. That is every new entity in the state's daily files. After removing holding companies, filing services, and shared agent addresses, 2,103 a day had a usable local address.
- 11% used a shared address. 10,997 new filings listed one of 194 registered-agent or virtual-office addresses as their principal address. One St. Petersburg address alone appeared on more than 5,000. We leave these out of county counts because the business usually operates somewhere else.
- LLCs dominate. 84% were Florida LLCs. Florida corporations were 8%, and out-of-state companies registering in Florida were 4%.
- South Florida leads. Miami-Dade County alone averaged 374.0 new filings per business day. Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach together made up 36% of filings with a Florida county address.
- Monday is the busiest day in the state's files, and Friday the quietest.

Methodology
We download the daily corporate filing files the Florida Division of Corporations publishes on work days. We keep new Florida and out-of-state LLCs, corporations, nonprofits, and limited partnerships. We remove names that indicate holding, investment, or trust vehicles, names of filing services, and filings whose principal street address appears on 10 or more new filings in the period, which marks a registered-agent or virtual-office address. Each filing is assigned to a county by its principal-address ZIP code; filings with a non-Florida or unmatched ZIP count toward the statewide total only.
This report is updated weekly. Only aggregate counts and public business names appear on this site. Full methodology. Guide: how to download the daily files yourself.
