Short answer
Where can merchant services reps find new merchants in Florida?
Start with new business filings, which reach merchants before they pick a processor. Between August 17 and October 9, 2026, Florida registered about 10,513 new businesses a week, about 1,229 of them in card-taking industries. FiledToday sends the ones in your county each weekday with the owner's name, phone number, and full mailing address, for $99 to $249 a month per county.

Why new merchants
Why are new merchants easier to win than switches?
No contract to break, every decision made at once, and a weak default if nobody calls.
No contract to break
No early termination fee and no equipment lease to buy out.
Every decision at once
POS, processor, online ordering or invoicing, and often the bank, usually in the weeks before opening.
A weak default
Without a call from you, many take whatever their bank or POS software bundles in.
New businesses that tend to take cards: restaurants, cafes, and bars; retail and e-commerce; salons, barbers, spas, and gyms; auto repair and detailing; home services that invoice; and medical, dental, and veterinary practices. Holding companies and most consulting LLCs rarely process cards, which is why the list is sorted by category.
Who to call first
Which new businesses should merchant services reps call first?
- Restaurants and food businessesHigh volume, a POS decision, and usually a hard opening date.
- Salons, barbers, spas, and gymsCard-heavy, often with booking and recurring billing.
- Retail with a commercial addressA storefront address is a good sign a register is coming.
- Auto repair and detailingLarger tickets and frequent card payments.
- Home service companiesMobile payments and invoicing on the job.
The first call
What to say on the first call
"Hi, is this [name]? This is [your name] with [company]. I saw [business name] registered recently, congratulations. I help new [type] businesses in [area] get card processing and a POS set up before opening day, so they're not stuck with whatever the bank offers. Are you still deciding on that?"
Lead with what the owner is about to deal with, not with what you sell.
Before you dial, check the calling rules. The TCPA, Do Not Call lists, and Florida's calling hours apply to every industry.

The list
What's on every lead?
- Business name, entity type, and filing date
- The full principal and mailing address from the filing
- Owner or officer name
- The owner's phone number on every delivered lead, with email and website when found
- A category from the business name (contractor, restaurant, salon, trucking, and so on)
Delivered each weekday morning by email, Google Sheets, or CSV, filtered to your county. Holding companies, filing services, and out-of-state entities are removed first.
Straight talk
What these are, and aren't
- They are businesses that just registered in your county, with the categories that take cards (restaurants, retail, salons, gyms, auto, and home services) sorted first.
- They aren't inbound requests. The owner hasn't asked anyone for help yet. You can be the first call, not the fifth.
- They're public, but rarely called. Anyone can download the state's filings, but the files have no phone numbers and are full of holding companies, so almost no one works them. You get each business the morning after it registers, with the owner's number already found.
Lead sources
How do new-business lists compare to other merchant services leads?
| Lead source | What you get | Timing | Usually priced |
|---|---|---|---|
| Switching leads and statement reviews | Merchants who already process, often under contract | Any time, but you're selling a switch | Per lead or your own time |
| Live transfers and appointments | An owner on the phone or on your calendar | When they answer an ad | Per call or appointment |
| Purchased business lists | Established businesses with a processor in place | Months to years after opening | Per record |
| New-business lists (FiledToday) | Businesses registered in the last few days, with the owner's phone | Days after filing | Flat monthly price per county |
A switch can be worth more per account, but it's a harder sale. A new-business list costs the same whether you call five owners a day or fifty, and it reaches them before anyone has a terminal on the counter.

Questions
Questions about merchant services leads
What are merchant services leads?
Businesses that may need credit card processing, a POS system, or payment software. Most are switching leads: merchants that already process cards. New business leads are owners who haven't chosen a processor yet. They're also called credit card processing leads or payment processing leads.
Are new LLC filings good merchant services leads?
Some are. A filing alone doesn't mean the business will take cards. Restaurants, retail, salons, gyms, auto services, and home services are good bets; holding companies and consulting LLCs usually aren't. That's why the list is sorted by category.
When should I contact a new merchant?
Before they open or right as they open. That's when they're choosing a POS, a processor, and often a bank. Once a terminal is on the counter, you're back to selling a switch.
How much does it cost?
Plans run $99 to $249 a month depending on county size, billed month to month, with no per-lead charges. The free county sample needs no card and does not start a subscription.
